20th Anniversary Commemorative Grants

We are commemorating the PEF’s 20th anniversary by establishing catalytic gifting alongside our regular giving to inspire and support innovative, measurable, and high-impact environmental initiatives.

1. Objectives of the grants

a) Support initiatives that would deliver measurable positive impacts on the preservation of biodiversity and environmental sustainability in Australia

b) Strengthen effective and impactful environmental organisations that are limited by capacity to leverage their proven track records in delivering tangible environmental outcomes

2. Funding scheme

Total gift pool: $2 million

Gift amount: based on the application pool and the successful initiative's scope

Funding available: from Financial Year 2026-27

Funded duration: Up to three years  (for ecological restoration, up to five years)

3. Elements we are looking to support

a) Environmental outcomes sought

- Protection of high conservation value habitats

- Reduction or mitigation of unsustainable management of natural resources

- Eliminating pollution by resolving its causes, through the implementation of best available solutions

b) Strategies and activities

- Are grounded in best available science and solutions(s)

- Avoid any negative consequences to other elements of the natural environment

- Seek to address social licence on the status quo

c) Impact deliverables

- Results in tangible or measurable outcomes that protect or conserve the environment

- Demonstrate a measurable increase in awareness of the current state of the environment

4. Eligibility

- Australian environmental NGOs with ABN

- Project must be delivered in Australia
